Greek Heritage, Global Style
The story of Kalliope began in Athens, Greece, when Kalliope and her husband, George, started designing jewelry together in 1984. By 1987, they launched their brand under the name Opus 4, blending passion, artistry, and traditional craftsmanship.
From a modest family business, the brand expanded over the years to become well-known worldwide. It was relaunched under the name Kalliope, which captures the uniqueness and artistry of each piece. Their jewelry is now sold in more than 50 countries, from Greece and Europe to the Dubai Mall, which introduced the brand in 2025, and is displayed at significant international trade shows.
The way each piece effortlessly modernizes while capturing the essence of Greek design is what distinguishes Kalliope. These designs are timeless, wearable, and uniquely personal.
Why We Love Kalliope at Hara NYC
I first discovered Kalliope’s designs while traveling in Greece back in 2017, when the brand was still known as Opus 4. Years later, in 2024 and again in September 2025 at the Javits Center, I had the pleasure of meeting Kalliope and her daughters at the Coterie Tradeshow in New York.
Her brand has remained loyal to its beginnings as a family business, initially established with her husband and now maintained with the help of her daughters. Kalliope herself is modest, kind, and grounded.
What sets her jewelry apart is the care and detail poured into every piece. From shaping molten silver to hand-polishing and stone-setting, generations of artistry go into the making of each design. The result? Unique, elegant, and fun statement pieces that feel just as special to wear as they are to create.
